How to Install a Solar Blanket

A solar blanket is the most economical pool cover for both above and in-ground pools. Properly trimmed, the blanket floats freely on the water, and does not need to be tied down. Heat from the sun is trapped in the solar blanket's bubbles, then transferred to the pool's water. A solar blanket can raise the temperature of your pool by 10 to 15 degrees.

Instructions

1. Lay the solar blanket across the surface of the pool, bubble side down.

2. Smooth out the solar blanket to remove any wrinkles or ripples.

3. Leave the solar blanket in place for two days so that it can smooth out.

4. Pull the solar blanket up to the pool edge.

5. Trim the solar blanket so that it floats edge to edge.

• Remove the blanket before using the pool.
