How to Clean Spots From Pool Table Felt

You love your pool table and take great care of it. Each time you're done playing, you take time to clean the balls with a soft cloth to remove dirt and chalk. But you can't control what other people do---for instance, you can't foresee when your neighbor will spill his drink on your beautiful, spotless felt. Here's how to do damage control to keep your pool table looking great.

Things You'll Need

• Soft cloths
• Brush
• Low-powered vacuum
• Woolite or Felt Rescue

Instructions

1. If the stain is still wet, blot it with a clean, absorbent cloth. Let it dry.

2. Gently brush the spot with a felt brush. They're available at billiard-supply stores.

3. Vacuum the spot with a low-powered vacuum. Too much suction can damage the felt.

4. Slightly dampen a soft cloth with Woolite and wipe in lines in one direction. An alternative is to lightly spray on a pool-table cleaning product such as Felt Rescue. Blot dry with a small cloth.

Tips & Warnings

• Chalk dust can damage the felt. To avoid this, regularly brush and vacuum your table.
