How To Reboot Sony Vaio Laptops
If your Sony Vaio laptop has suffered a hardware or software error, it may need to be rebooted. This is a common practice for most computer users, but, depending upon the severity of the problem, it can sometimes require some extra steps. Fortunately, there is more than one way to reboot a computer.

Reboot through Windows. From the Start menu, click on the "Power" icon in Vista (or Shut Down option in Windows XP) and select "Restart" from the resulting menu.

Hit Ctrl Alt and Delete at the same time. Use the Shut Down option from the resulting screen to restart.

Hit Ctrl, Alt and Delete at the same time, three times in a row. This does not work on all systems.

Hard-reboot your computer. Hold down the power button until the computer has completely shut down. Press again to restart the computer after 15 seconds.

Cut off power to the laptop. Unplug the power cord and gently remove the battery. Leave it disconnected for at least 15 seconds. Replace the battery and turn the computer back on.

Sony Vaio laptops should be properly restarted by using the Windows tool whenever possible.
*Failure to use the Windows restart tool will result in extra files and poor performance. *Forcibly turning off your computer or removing the battery can result in damage to the laptop's files or hardware.
