Fabric seat covers can add a cool look to the interior of a car, but if they're uncomfortable to sit on, it tends to detract from the whole experience. The process of breaking in tough fabric seat covers can be a long and uncomfortable process without a little help. There's a very simple way to make fabric seat covers feel as nice as they look. It takes less time and effort than you might think.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Vinegar
  • Fabric softener
  1. Step 1

    Put the seat covers in the washing machine.

  2. Step 2

    Run the cycle, but add no detergent.

  3. Step 3

    Add a cup of white vinegar during the rinse cycle.

  4. Step 4

    Allow the washing machine to finish the cycle.

  5. Step 5

    Dry the seat covers in the dryer with a fabric softener.

Tips & Warnings
  • Read the care instructions on the label. Washing certain fabrics such as wool and silk can damage them.
