Microsoft Word is extremely useful in making all kinds of projects, including making CD booklets. Making your own CD booklet can be very helpful when compiling a CD for a business meeting or to include with a special homemade CD for a loved one. Making a CD booklet in Word is as simple as downloading a template from Microsoft Office Online, and then using the tools in Word to customize it to fit your purpose.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Go to Microsoft Office Online. Use the link in the Resources section.

  2. Step 2

Click on "Templates" on the top blue toolbar.

  3. Step 3

Click on "More Categories" in the "Browse Templates" box.

  4. Step 4

Click on "Case Inserts" on the next screen.

  5. Step 5

Browse through the various CD booklets or case inserts that are listed on the following page. Because you are on Microsoft Office's website, there are templates available in all Office programs, such as Publisher, so be sure to look for ones that are available in Word. Click on a title to find out more information about the template, such as the program that it is compatible with, file size and other information.

  6. Step 6

Click the title of the template that you want to download into Word.

  7. Step 7

Click the "Download" button. Follow the screens from there. Sometimes you are asked to save the template before it will open, and sometimes the template will open up automatically in Word.

  8. Step 8

Add your own text into the pre-set text boxes on the template. Click inside the text box and enter your text.

  9. Step 9

Add your own graphics or pictures to the template. To do this, go to "Insert" and "Picture." Choose "Clip Art" or, to add your own photo, choose "From File."

  10. Step 10

Change the colors of the text or graphics by using the tools available on the "Formatting" toolbar.

  11. Step 11

Print out the CD booklet on card stock or thick paper. Fold the booklet according to the lines on the template.
