Go on ebay.com. On eBay, you do need an account to shop and buy items, but the benefit is that you can connect with sellers who are located anywhere in the world, which often will include wholesalers who have discounted tickets or individuals who are trying to sell their gift certificates.

Determine the price you are willing to pay in order to purchase your tickets --- stick to it. If the bidding or buy it now price either on craigslist or eBay is higher than your preset amount, keep looking; new deals are listed daily. Keep in mind the regular price for matinee and late hour tickets to make sure you are getting a good deal. Read all the terms for the item to make sure there are no stipulations you do not agree to. These can include shipping price or a long wait until a movie comes out.

Try out the entertainment book. This book is offered for a low price, and even lower a few months after it has been out. It features offers for restaurants, hotels and entertainment such as movie tickets. If the movie you want has been out for two weeks it's a larger discount than when it's a brand new movie, but either way, it still provides the movie tickets less than just buying them at the box office.

Go to the movie theater's web site. Often large chain companies have value bundle packs that you can purchase. These often require that you purchase a large number of tickets at once (about 50 or more), but in return the price per ticket is much lower than if you buy them at the box office. Normally these have no limitations as to when they can be used.
