Tips & Warnings

  • Running the Wix platform in your Internet browser requires updated ActiveX controls, and the latest version of Adobe Flash. It is best to obtain both of these updates before running the Wix platform. Write down your Wix login information for your records. You will need this information for later access to your page to edit your Flash platform. Stay within the rectangular region in the middle of the page. Although it looks small, it is the actual size of the webpage because it is zoomed out. Do not design outside of this region. If you desire to zoom into the page, click on the magnifying glass with the plus symbol at the top of the screen.

  • Always save your work as you go to avoid losing what you've done, due to unexpected freezes or a response failure from your computer. This can cause a loss of work and you will have to start over completely. Close any nonessential programs and other Internet browsing windows when running the Wix platform. Do not click repeatedly on the screen when it is attempting to load. Allow the screen to load completely to avoid freezes. Depending on your browser, it may seem slow or as if it will not load, but it takes time in some cases. Be aware that you can publish the intro for free, but if you would like to apply it to a web domain, there will be a small charge.
