The Blackberry 8700 isn't known as an "all-in-one" Blackberry like the Blackberry Pearl or Curve. Because the 8700 does not allow for expandable memory, there is only 32 MB available for storage. These interface and memory restrictions make it difficult to store and play music on the phone. However, the Blackberry 8700 does support MP3 file formats, and there is a way to put a limited amount of music on the Blackberry 8700.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Create an MP3 file that you would like to put on your Blackberry 8700. You can use an MP3 converter like iTunes to do this. Because of the small amount of memory on the Blackberry 8700 itself, it is essential to encode the file into as small a file as possible.

  2. Step 2

Upload MP3 to your personal website or email client. You will access the file via the web.

  3. Step 3

Point your Blackberry browser to your website or email client. You should be able to see a link for the file at this point.

  4. Step 4

Click the Blackberry menu button on the link and save the file to any folder on your Blackberry.

  5. Step 5

Navigate to the file on your Blackberry and make sure that it was saved properly and plays correctly.

Tips & Warnings
  • The Blackberry 8700 has a very limited amount of memory and will only be able to hold a few small MP3 files.
