Instructions

    • 1

Decide what you want on the menu in addition to spaghetti. In addition to spaghetti with meat sauce, you might also want to offer a nonmeat sauce. Other menu items that might be added include salad and breadsticks.

    • 2

Find sponsors. If you can find someone to donate some of the items, such as food, plates, cutlery and napkins, the more money your organization can raise.

    • 3

Room to grow. Find a place big enough for the event. If your organization is a school, this should be easy.

    • 4

Pick a date. Select a date for when you can hold the event based on the availability of the venue.

    • 5

Don't forget the price. Decide on a cost per plate and set a goal for the number of people to attend the event.

    • 6

Advertise. Make fliers, posters, signs and news releases, and deliver them to several businesses, newspapers, TV stations, radio stations and City Hall. It is typical, especially in small towns, for cities to run a closed-circuit TV station on cable TV made especially for community announcements.

    • 7

All done. Make arrangements with homeless or abused-women's shelters to donate any leftovers.
