The following are just a few ideas.

Instructions

  1. Fetch Rope Toy

    • 1

Purchase a thick rope at the hardware store, or use an old piece that is laying around. It should be approximately six inches to one foot long, depending on the size of your dog.

    • 2

Tie a knot on either end of the rope and burn the edges so that the knots do not come undone.

    • 3

Throw the rope and play fetch with your puppy. This inexpensive and easy dog toy will result in hours of fun for both you and your pet.

    Tug Toy

    • 4

Purchase a tennis ball from the store. A used ball is also okay as long as it does not have holes in it.

    • 5

Take a tube sock (old or new) and place the tennis ball inside.

    • 6

Secure the open end with a rubber band or hair elastic.

    • 7

Play tug of war with your canine.

Tips & Warnings

  • If your dog becomes uninterested in a toy that still has plenty of life, renew her interest by putting a little peanut butter or spreadable treat on the surface.

  • While your dog may have a lot of fun with old shoes made into toys, you should not give her these things. Unfortunately, your canine may not be able to decipher between old and new which could result in your brand new shoes torn to shreds.
