A lot of skills, jobs and hobbies done by people today can benefit from having improved hand eye coordination. Hand eye coordination is developed from a combination of muscle coordination and brain reaction time. Below are some things you can do to improve your hand eye coordination that are fun to do.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Free Time
  1. Step 1

    ~Juggle~

If you don't know how to juggle you're missing out. It's incredibly fun, easy & cheap to start learning, and vastly improves your hand eye coordination. All you need to start are 3 objects of similar weight and size that you can toss with your hands. You can buy juggling balls in packs of 3 for around $10 usually; tennis balls work okay as well.

  2. Step 2

    ~Yo-Yo~

Just like juggling, yo-yoing offers incredible benefits for your hand eye coordination and is cheap and easy to get started. About a $10-$15 investment should get you started at your local toy shop.

  3. Step 3

    ~Play Ball!~

Basketball, baseball, football and even Foosball all help build hand eye coordination in their own ways. Pretty much any sport that has the word ball in it or the object of it involves a ball moving around at high speeds can benefit your hand eye coordination. The best part is that everyone knows how to play at least one of these sports and they all offer great health benefits as well.

  4. Step 4

    ~Play Video Games~

Yes, I said it. Many action based video games today can help improve hand eye coordination. First person shooters like Halo, Counter-Strike and Call of Duty seem to do the job best because in order to be good at them you must have highly developed reaction times. Unfortunately, the cost of investment can be quite a bit more expensive than most other things here depending on whether or not you currently have a gaming console or PC capable of running the game of choice.

  5. Step 5

    ~Play with Skill Toys~

I mentioned the two biggest skill toys above (juggling balls & yo-yos), but one trip to a local toy store that deals in those two things and you'll find that they're only the beginning. There are a plethora of other skill toys available that will greatly improve your hand eye coordination -- diablos, juggling sticks, stacking cups, spinning tops, and boomerangs just to name a few. Just take a trip to your local toy shop that carries skill toys to get introduced to this world.
