Things You'll Need:
- Fusible glass shapes
- Cleaner
- Glass glue
- Decorative inclusions
- Bail
-
Step 1
Clean the glass you will be using with a soft cloth and cleaner. Be thorough when cleaning, as any fingerprints, smudges, or lint left on the glass will fuse into the final product and be visible.
-
Step 2
Place the bottom piece of your fusible glass design onto the kiln shelf. Attach smaller pieces of glass, stringers, and any other decorative pieces to the glass base with glass glue. Make sure all pieces that you want to fuse together overlap.
-
Step 3
Fire up the kiln to 1110 degrees Fahrenheit. Turn the kiln off and let it cool down to room temperature before removing the fused glass. On average, it should take as long to cool as it did to reach firing temperature, but this will vary with each kiln so consult your owner's manual.
-
Step 4
Attach a glue on bail or hanger, available in the jewelry section of bead and craft shops, to the back of the ornament. Hang it in a place where the glass will reflect natural or artificial light for the best effect.
