Remove the cap covering the handle (the plastic or metal cover with an H or C on it). It is best to use a flat-head screwdriver to just pop it out.

Remove the screw with a Phillips screwdriver.

Pull the handle toward you so that it comes off the stub. This will expose the water valve.
