Use Epoxy Resin

Some materials seem to never want to stick together or keep a firm hold. For gluing ceramics or plastics back together, an epoxy resin is one of the best glues to use for a long lasting hold. This formula has a special mixing component to it and once mixed can be set up for all types of materials.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Check the items that need to be glued and make sure they have been cleaned of any dirt or residue that may prevent a strong hold.

    • 2

Place the items together to make sure they have a tight fit. Make any adjustments to the items if a gap comes up in between the items that may prevent a tight hold.

    • 3

Take off the caps on the epoxy resin container. Use scissors to clip off the tip on each side. Be sure not to cut up too high or all the contents may spill out.

    • 4

Use the plungers on each end and squeeze a small amount out onto a scrap piece of cardboard.

    • 5

Take the Popsicle stick and mix the two liquids together. This is the key to making the mixture powerful and strong holding.

    • 6

Use the Popsicle stick to apply the mixture to the place that needs gluing.

    • 7

Set the piece together and make sure everything is met up accurately with no gaps. Place it out of the way so it won't be disturbed.

    • 8

Allow the glue to dry for several hours. Each epoxy resin mixture will say on the container how many hours are needed for it to set fully.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be careful to not get the epoxy on your fingers or you may need to use paint thinner to remove it.
