How to Stack a Frigidaire Washer & Dryer
For those who have limited space, but still require the option of a full sized washer and dryer, the Frigidaire stackable is a viable option. It combines the space saving attributes of a pre-stacked washer/dryer with the convenience of full sized laundry. However, as stacking is optional, they are sold as individual units, which require the purchase of a stacking kit to combine them into a vertical unit. The following instructions will guide you through the basics of stacking your Frigidaire washer/dryer. However, please note that you must purchase the stacking kit that is explicitly intended for your model, and these instructions may not apply exactly to each model and stacking kit. 1
Begin by removing the metal top from the washer, as well as the foam pad immediately beneath it. Set both of these to the side.
-
2
Still working with the washer, remove the clips at either side of the front of the washer, where the top had slid into place. Replace these with the clips included in your stacking kit.
-
-
3
At the rear of the washer's top, there are two clips that the top had previously clipped into. Remove these and set to the side.
-
4
Moving to the dryer, locate the two plastic plugs at the bottom front of the dryer; remove these. With assistance, lift the dryer up and place it on top of the washer.
-
5
The stacking kit will have included holding screws, which will need to be screwed into the front, at the point where you removed the plastic plugs. After this is done, replace the plastic plugs that you had previously removed.
-
6
Finally, take the two clips previously removed from the front of the washer, and snap them into place on the back of the washer to hold the dryer in place.
-
7
Connect all drainage and electric/gas/venting hoses as directed, and as appropriate to your model. Run a test load on your washer to ensure that the dryer is securely and stably attached, and correct as necessary.
