Things You'll Need:
- Nylon webbing
- Replacement hardware
- Tape measure
- Screwdriver
- Awl
- Scissors
- Dish-washing soap and warm water
- Scrubbing brush
- Bucket
-
Step 1
Place the chair upside down on a work surface. Remove the screws that hold the existing webbing in place, and remove all of the existing nylon webbing straps that needs to be replaced.
-
Step 2
Measure the length for the horizontal webbing straps. Measure from approximately 1 inch on the other side of the hole in the chair, across the chair frame to the other side of the chair, to approximately 1 inch on the other side of the opposite hole. Pull the tape measure taut as you measure.
-
Step 3
Unroll the nylon webbing and cut the number of webbing lengths with scissors.
-
Step 4
Fold in the corners on both ends of a nylon strap to create pointed ends. Poke a hole in each strap end that is approximately 1/2 inch from the point of the ends of the straps with the awl.
-
Step 5
Attach the strap to the chair by screwing the strap through the hole made in Step 4 into a hole on the chair frame. Pull the strap across the chair and attach the other end of the strap by screwing it through the other hole in the strap into the opposite hole in the chair.
-
Step 6
Repeat Steps 4 and 5 to attach all of the horizontal webbing strips to the chair.
-
Step 7
Repeat Step 2 to measure the vertical webbing straps. These straps begin at the front of the chair and go back to the rear of the seat and up the back of the chair to the top.
-
Step 8
Repeat Steps 3 through 5 to attach the vertical webbing straps to the chair. Weave the vertical webbing straps in front of and behind the horizontal webbing straps. All of the vertical webbing straps must be placed behind the bar that separates the seat of the chair and the back of the chair.
