Dogs are great pets. They are loyal, loving and fun to play with. Dogs also need to be fed, walked, kept up to date on their shots and groomed. If you own a hairy dog, you are going to get hair all over the house. If the hair sticks to your couch or recliner and you sit in it, you will get hair on your clothing. Perhaps the hardest clothing to remove hair from is fleece; however, it can be done.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clear packaging tape
  • Vacuum
  • Upholstery tool vacuum attachment
  • Lint roller
  • Sticky sheets
  • Dryer
  1. Step 1

Wrap a piece of packaging tape around your fingers with the sticky side facing out. Press the tape over the dog hair on the fleece and quickly lift back up. The dog hair will stick to the tape. You should be able to get several spots of hair up with one piece of packaging tape. Once your tape is no longer sticky, throw it away and get a new piece.

  2. Step 2

Attach the upholstery tool attachment to your vacuum. Turn the vacuum on and run the upholstery tool from top to bottom over the fleece. The bristles will catch the dog hair and the suction will them pull them down into the vacuum. A plain hose will not work. You need an attachment with bristles.

  3. Step 3

Purchase a lint roller. This works the same way as the packaging tape. The hairs stick to it. Roll the lint roller right over your fleece to pick up the dog hairs. Replace the lint roller sheet when it's no longer sticky.

  4. Step 4

Buy sticky sheets (see "Resources"). These sheets were designed to remove pet hair from an entire room. They can get the dog hair off of your fleece in a matter of seconds. The best part about them is that the sticky sheets don't get stuck to each other so you won't accidentally waste any of them.

  5. Step 5

Throw your fleece in the dryer on air dry. Leave it for about 10 minutes and the dog hair will make its way to the lint trap.

Tips & Warnings
  • A rubber glove will attract all of the dog hairs. If you wear one you can get all of the dog hairs to gather in one place. Then scoop them up and throw them out. If you don't want to wrap the packaging tape around your fingers, you can wrap it around a paint roller.
