How to Make PVC Candlesticks With a Light Bulb

Having different light sources in the home can create different ambient lighting and give the room a new decor. Candlesticks accent any design. Making candlesticks with PVC pipe is very simple and can be customized to fit individual needs. Whether it is an elegant look or a look for a child's room, PVC pipe candlesticks are the way to go.

Things You'll Need

• (1) 5 inch length of 2-inch PVC pipe
• (4) 2 inch lengths of 2-inch PVC pipe
• (4) Elbows
• (1) 5-way connector
• (1) Lamp kit
• (1) 6 to 8 inch clip on lampshade
• PVC glue
• Gold spray paint

Instructions

1. 

   Drill a hole in the center of the 5-way connector. Make this hole big enough for the plug end of the light kit.

2. Spray paint all the pieces of the PVC pipe with gold paint to create a gold candlestick look. Any color can be used.

3. 

   Thread the cord of the light kit through the 5-inch length of PVC pipe. Glue the light bulb end of the light kit to the end of the PVC pipe.

4. Thread the plug end of the cord through the 5-inch pipe and into the hole you made in the 5-way connector. Glue the connector to the bottom of the pipe.

5. 

   Glue one short section of pipe into each of the four holes in the 5-way connector. These will be the legs. Glue an elbow to the end of each of the legs, facing down. This is what the lamp stands on.

6. 

   Place a light bulb into the light kit. Clip the lampshade onto the bulb. Plug the lamp in and enjoy.

Tips & Warnings

• Paint any color.

• Add any kind of lampshade.

• Hang beads off of the lampshade for an embellished look.
