Jewelry Eye Pins

Eye pins are a jewelry component that allows an additional item to be attached. Eye pins look like a long piece of wire with a loop at the end. They come in various sizes and metal colors, such as silver and gold. Using an eye pin in the construction of earrings gives the finished piece a more interesting appearance with an extra dangle at the bottom.

Instructions

    • 1

String as many beads as you would like onto the eye pin. Consider the length that the finished earring will be, including an extra bead attached to the loop of the eye pin.

    • 2

Use your round-nose pliers to make a loop at the top. Wind the wire around the neck of the loop once. Clip the excess wire with a wire cutter.

    • 3

Open a jump ring and insert a charm. While the jump ring is still open, attach it to the bottom loop of the eye pin. Close the jump ring.

    • 4

Pull the spring back on a French ear wire, exposing the opening in its loop. Attach the beaded eye pin and let go of the spring. Repeat steps 1 through 4 for a second earring.
