After using the feather duster, there will still be some hardened dirt and debris in the pipe. Use a water hose to remove hardened dirt from the pipe. Run water from the water hose through the pipe until the water returns clear from the pipe. Be sure not to insert the water hose nozzle completely; just enough to wash the debris until the water returns clear. Don't worry about damaging any components inside your air conditioning unit. The water pipe connects to a drain line which drains condensation off the unit as it cools during the summer.

Check for proper flow of condensation daily. Poor flow of condensation can cause the indoor components of your air conditioning unit to ice over and malfunction.
Don't insert the nozzle of the water hose fully into the pipe. The water hose should be inserted only enough to get the debris flowing.
