Guitar effects pedals are a great way to give your guitar another dimension of sound to your music. However, having several pedals on stage can create clutter and make it hard to remember which pedal does what. This can all be eliminated by creating a custom pedal board. By just using a few household materials, a pedal board will not only organize your equipment but give you that custom look that all musicians love.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Get a piece of wood that is 1' x 2' x 1". This will be your board. It may need to be a few inches longer depending on how many pedals you plan on using. Use this length to start.

  2. Step 2

Gather your pedals and position them how you want. Put the volume/whammy pedal on the far left and put the ones that you use the most as you work your way to the right of the board. Mark these positions with a pencil.

  3. Step 3

Stick the fuzzy side of a piece of industrial Velcro on these marks. Use two pieces for the volume/whammy pedal. Make sure the pieces are big enough to hold the pedals in place.

  4. Step 4

Stick the other side of the Velcro on the bottom of the pedals. The position of your pedals is not permanent, so you can change it whenever you want to.

  5. Step 5

Attach four anti-slip strips to the bottom of the board. This will prevent it from sliding around on stage.
