How to Program Thermostats
A programmable thermostat automatically turns on and off your home's furnace or air conditioner based on times, days and temperatures you set. Look at the day and time displayed on your thermostat. If they are incorrect, open the front panel. Press the "Set Clock/Day" button and then press "Ahead" or "Behind" to assign the correct day and time. The thermostat runs your heating and cooling based on the day and time set.

Set your thermostat to heat using the small toggle towards the bottom of the thermostat.

Press "Set Schedule." On the screen, you will see a time, days of the week, temperature and the word "wake." Press the "Ahead" or "Behind" buttons to set the time you want the heat to switch on and the temperature for weekday mornings.

Press "Set Schedule" again and use the ahead and behind buttons to set the time and temperature for when you leave, return home and go to sleep on weekdays.

Repeat the steps to set the wake and sleep times and temperatures for Saturday and Sunday.

Set your thermostat to cool and repeat the steps for setting days, times and temperature for air conditioning.

Press "Run Program" to start the heating or cooling program.

Tips & Warnings
Thermostat manufactures offer different programming options. Check your owner's manual or the company's website for specific instructions regarding your thermostat. Remember to change the time on your thermostat in the spring and fall for daylight saving time, if that applies to your area.
