The iPod Nano Chromatic is a personal MP3 player that is produced by Apple. It does not have as much hard drive memory as the classic iPod, but it can hold more files than the smaller iPod Shuffle. Using the iPod Nano Chromatic is just like using a classic iPod and can be learned easily in a few quick steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Download and install the latest version of iTunes (see link in Resources). Once you have done this, open the iTunes application.

  2. Step 2

Connect your iPod Nano Chromatic to your computer, using the USB connection cable that came with your iPod. Place the USB side into your computer's USB slot. Then place the other end of the cable into the input of your iPod Nano.

  3. Step 3

Set your sync preferences in iTunes. Click iTunes > Preferences > Devices.
Click on your iPod Nano Chromatic and choose your sync preferences. If you want to manually upload songs, click the checkbox "Disable Automatic Sync." If you would like your iPod Nano to sync automatically with whatever songs you have on your computer, unclick that checkbox.

  4. Step 4

Load songs onto your iPod Nano Chromatic. To do this, simply navigate to your music library. When you have found a song you would like to transfer, drag it onto your iPod Nano icon, located on the left-hand navigation bar of iTunes. If you set your sync settings to update automatically, all your songs on your computer will transfer to your iPod.

  5. Step 5

Disconnect your iPod from iTunes by clicking "Disconnect" located on the left-hand navigation bar. Be sure to click this before physically disconnecting your iPod from your computer.

  6. Step 6

Once you have disconnected, you can turn your iPod on and make sure the songs have transferred. You will now be able to play those songs on your iPod.
