How to Convert a PDF File to an Active Text Word Document

PDF and Word files are the two most common document formats today. But while it's relatively easy to convert an active text document to PDF format, it can be trickier to find a way to convert PDFs back into Word files. Luckily, a few services exist to do this that are fast, easy and don't make you pull out your credit card. The easiest of those to use is HelloPDF.com.

Instructions

  1. Steps to Convert a PDF to a Word Document

    • 1

Download the free "PDF to Word Doc Converter" from HelloPDF.com (see Resources for a website link).

    • 2

Double-click the downloaded file and continue pressing "Next" until the program is successfully installed.

    • 3

Double-click the "Free PDF to Word Doc Converter" icon that should appear on your desktop after the installation.

    • 4

Browse to the PDF file you wish to convert under the "Select PDF File for Conversion" heading.

    • 5

Click "Convert to Word Document." The Word document will be created in the same location as the PDF file.

    • 6

Open the Word document to make sure the PDF file was converted properly. Occasionally, as with all PDF converters, the document will have some formatting discrepancies, but all the text will be accurately converted.
