How to Remove Adhesive Tape Residue From Skin

Your adhesive strip bandage worked like a charm; it kept your injury clean and dry until it was healed enough to leave unprotected. The problem you face now is the gummy, grimy residue left on your skin from the adhesive tape! Soap and water won't touch it, and you haven't a clue how to get it off.
Not to worry. Removing adhesive tape residue isn't too tough; with a common household item, you can have that residue gone in seconds.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    Moisten a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol by pouring a small amount of the alcohol directly onto the cotton ball.

  2. Step 2

    Wring out the excess alcohol.

  3. Step 3

    Use the wet cotton to wipe the adhesive off your skin in a circular motion. All residue will lift off immediately.

  4. Step 4

    Rinse the area with a clean cotton ball moistened with water.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take care not to get the rubbing alcohol on your wound.
