Instructions

    • 1

Cut a 2 inch wide strip of felt in the color of your choice that is long enough wrap under the chin and over the top of the child's head with 1 inch overlap. Cut a 1 inch piece of hook and loop tape and hot glue the loop side to one end of the strip and the hook side to the other so that it can be fastened closed.

    • 2

Draw a petal template on poster board. The petals should be no more than 4 inches tall for younger children and 6 inches long for older children. Cut the template out. Make a second template for the leaves. These can be slightly larger than the petals.

    • 3

Trace the template onto the felt color of your choice to make the petals. Trace and cut out enough petals to go around the full length of the headband. Trace the leaf template onto green felt. Cut out 3 to 5 leaves.

    • 4

Hot glue the bottom of each petal to the top of the headband. Leave 1/2 inch space between each petal so the headband will wrap around the head comfortably.

    • 5

Hot glue the leaves to the torso and legs of the sweat suit to make the stem.

Tips & Warnings

  • Use paint markers to put realistic veins on the leaves.
