Make Organic Homemade Teething Biscuits

We all want our babies to put nutritional things into their mouths and tummies. When a baby is teething, these biscuits are great for them to chew on and cut those teeth in a delicious and nutritious way!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • See Below
  1. Step 1

The recipe for teething biscuits is not complicated. Most ingredients can be found right in your grocery store. These biscuits are all-natural and good for your baby!

  2. Step 2

Here are the ingredients you will need:

    1 beaten egg yolk
3 tbsp. maple syrup or molasses (can be omitted if you don't want your baby to have too much sugar)
1 tsp. vanilla (see warning below)
    1 1/2 tsp. oil
    1/4 cup milk
    1 tbsp. uncooked oatmeal
1 cup flour (white, wheat, or a combination of both)
    1 tbsp soy flour
    1 tbsp wheat germ
    1 tbsp non-fat dry milk

  3. Step 3

Blend all the wet ingredients together in a medium bowl. Mix well until blended. Add the dry ingredients and again mix until well blended. The dough will be stiff.

  4. Step 4

Roll the dough out on a floured surface to desired consistency. They will rise on baking. Cut into strips or any desired shape. Use a cookie cutter to make them fun for your baby!

  5. Step 5

Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet. Let cool and store in an airtight container or plastic bag.

Tips & Warnings
  • These can be made without the soy flour, wheat germ, and dry milk if needed, but they do add to the nutritional value
  • These freeze well as does the dough.
  • When using vanilla in a recipe that a child will be consuming, avoid anything that says it is "pure" or an extract because these contain alcohol. Look for products that do not say they are "pure" or are made from the real vanilla bean.
