How to Make Jell-O Juicers
Jell-O Juicers are also known as Jell-O Jigglers or Jell-O Juice Jigglers. This recipe turns Jell-O into a sort of "interactive food" that children, or playful adults, can handle and play with before eating. It also replaces the water that's usually used when making Jell-O with fruit juice. This adds extra flavor to the Juicers, and depending on what type of juice you use, it can also add some nutritional value. Just check the labeling on the juice you'd like to use for its nutritional information. Generally, use natural juice that isn't from concentrate and that has no sugar added. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 2 3/4 cups juice of choice, such as apple juice
- Medium-sized pot
- 2 large or 4 small packages of Jell-O gelatin or other fruit-flavored gelatin
- 9-by-13-inch baking pan
- Deep, hollow cookie cutters
Instructions
-
-
1
Pour your juice into the medium-sized pot and bring it to a boil over medium heat. Remove the pot from the heat.
-
2
Gently whisk the gelatin into the juice until the gelatin is thoroughly dissolved.
-
-
3
Carefully pour the liquid into your baking pan.
-
4
Carefully place the pan in your fridge and chill the Jell-O until it is totally firm. This will usually take at least three hours.
-
5
Fill your sink or a large roasting pan with a few inches of hot water. Dip the baking pan into the hot water for 10 to 15 seconds to release the Jell-O from the pan.
-
6
Use your cookie cutters to cut designs out of the jello. Press the cookie cutter into the baking sheet of Jell-O and pull it out. The shape should remain in the cutter. You can push it out through the top of your cookie cutter. If the shape does not remain in the cutter, use a butter knife or thin spatula to gently remove the shape. Alternatively, start cutting your shapes from the edge of the pan so they can be removed from the sheet of Jell-O more easily.

Tips & Warnings
You don't have to use just one type of juice. You can combine different juices to make a sort of fruit punch flavor. Most of the fun of Juicers comes from their shape, so be creative. Use letter-shaped cutters to spell names or initials. If you do not have any cookie cutters, you can pour the liquid gelatin into muffin tins, chill them until set, then release them by dipping the tin into hot water using the method described in Step 5. Turn the tin out, and you will have Jell-O rounds that you can handle.
