There seems to be a stigma surrounding impotence that leads many men to never seek help. They feel embarrassed and sometimes less of a man when an erection fails to arise. But, the more men start talking about their problems with impotence, the more treatment options will inevitably become available. Plus, it informs others of what they can do to treat their own impotence or erectile dysfunction before it leads to emotional distress. Luckily, many of the treatments available today can be administered right at home.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Alprostadil
  • Penis pump
  • Gingko
  • L-arginine
  1. Step 1

Start using alprostadil, a prescription suppository that is inserted into the tip of the penis in the comfort of your own home to increase blood flow within this area of the body, therefore, prompting an erection.

  2. Step 2

Invest in a penis pump. Some men have found a benefit in the use of a penis pump to treat their problems with impotence. While not necessarily a cure for erectile dysfunction, the pump mechanically draws blood into the penis through a vacuum effect, prompting the penis to become erect long enough for sexual intercourse.

  3. Step 3

Take a gingko supplement. This natural supplement can be taken once a day to essentially improve blood circulation through a thinning of the blood, which can aid in achieving an erection when stimulated.

  4. Step 4

Take a supplement containing L-arginine. Much like gingko, this herbal remedy is believed to increase blood circulation throughout the body, including the penis. Since proper blood flow is needed to achieve an erection, according to the Mayo Clinic, this supplement has the potential of treating impotence. However, studies are still limited on its actual safety, and it has not been approved by the FDA.

  5. Step 5

Talk to your doctor about hormone replacement therapy. If your impotence is a result of an imbalance in your hormones, you can start using a testosterone replacement treatment to cure impotence right from home.

Tips & Warnings
  • You may also want to consider talking to your doctor about Cialis, Viagra or Levitra, which are all prescription medications approved by the Food and Drug Administration that you can use to treat your impotence.
