Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Stren braid fishing line
  • Hook
  • Knife or scissors
  1. Step 1

Hold the Stren braid fishing line between your thumb and forefinger of one hand about six inches from the end of the line. Grab the tag end of the line with your other thumb and forefinger and double the line back on itself. You now should have a small loop at the end of the line.

  2. Step 2

Thread the small loop and line through the hook eye. Make sure the line on both sides of the hook eye overlaps itself.

  3. Step 3

Hold the loop in one hand and the main fishing line in the other. Wrap the looped line around the main line to form an overhand knot. Do not tighten.

  4. Step 4

Pass the hook completely through the loop.

  5. Step 5

Tighten the knot by pulling on the tag end of the line. The knot should be snug against the eye of the hook.

  6. Step 6

Cut the excess line so that about one-quarter inch remains.

Tips & Warnings
  • Adding a small amount of fishing glue to the knot will improve its strength.
