How to Make a Group in SquirrelMail

Squirrelmail is a popular Open Source web mail system used by many organizations. It has a full complement of features, including an address book that supports email groups. Unfortunately, some of the less common features are not well documented, such as creating and managing email groups.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the "Addresses" link at the top of your Squirrelmail inbox.

    • 2

Fill out the "New Address" form at the bottom of your address list. List all the email addresses you want included in the group under "E-mail address". Separate addresses with a comma and a space, for example:
      larry@example.net, curly@fubar.net, moe@sample.com

    • 3

Click "Add Address" to add the group to your address book.

    • 4

Find your group in your address listing to compose a message to the group. Click either the "to" "bcc" or "cc" fields beside the group, then click "Use Addresses" to start composing your new message.

Tips & Warnings

  • Some versions of Squirrelmail are limited to 255 characters in the E-mail field.
