If you have a bluetooth-enabled wireless printer, but don't have a bluetooth-enabled computer, you may feel like you have wasted a perfectly good printer purchase. However, you can still connect your wireless printer to your computer via a Linksys Bluetooth adapter. Once your linksys adapter is connected, you can enjoy all the benefits of wireless printing.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Linksys Bluetooth Wireless Adapter
  1. Step 1

Plug your Linksys adapter into a USB 2.0 port on your computer. These ports are usually on the front of your tower, or on the right side of a laptop. If you are unsure which USB port to plug the Linksys adapter in, check your computer's owners manual or hardware profile to discern which USB ports follow the 2.0 protocol.

  2. Step 2

Install the Linksys Bluetooth management application. Your Bluetooth adapter should have been bundled with a CD with the Linksys Bluetooth Management program. Put the CD in your computer's CD-Rom drive and then follow the installation prompts to install the software. Once the process is finished, you may need to restart your computer.

  3. Step 3

Sync your printer with your Linksys adapter. Once the Bluetooth adapter has been installed, enable it and then put it in sync mode. Then enable the sync mode on the printer. Once the two devices find each other your wireless printer will be connected to your computer via the Linksys adapter.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you have misplaced the CD, see the Resources section for a link to the Linksys support site, where you can enter your adapters' serial number and download the program from there.
