Contacting the INS is fairly easy, but with recent casework overloads, you may have to exercise a little patience when dealing with them and the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.

      The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website has several helpful tools for those with questions regarding a variety of immigration and naturalization topics. Typically most of your questions concerning the INS can be answered in their FAQ (frequently asked questions) section.

      Although a large government agency, the matters they deal with require anyone wishing to contact them do so by telephone rather than email. The toll free phone number is (800) 375-5283 or the TTY number is (800) 767-1833.

      Email is only accepted for feedback regarding the website and will be read within two business days, but due to the amount of messages received, not all messages will be given a reply.

  • Do not send information about specific cases to their email address. They only accept website related comments and concerns at www.uscis.webmaster@dhs.gov.
