There are a few benefits to baking salmon in aluminum foil. One is easier clean-up. When the cooking is done, all you have to do is wad up the foil and throw it away. Another benefit to baking salmon in foil is that it keeps the fish from drying out and you can also bake flavors into the salmon by adding additional ingredients to the foil before sealing it up, like onions, garlic or lemon slices.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Aluminum foil
  • Salmon
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • 1 tsp. butter (optional)
  • Seasoning (optional)
  • Baking sheet
  1. Step 1

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. Step 2

Tear off a piece of aluminum foil a little larger than twice the size of the piece of salmon.

  3. Step 3

Spray the foil with the non-stick cooking spray.

  4. Step 4

Place the salmon in the middle of the piece of foil.

Add any seasonings, butter or other ingredients you wish to bake the salmon with.

  6. Step 6

Take the two opposite edges the the foil and bring them together over the piece of salmon. Fold the edges down several times, creating a seal with the two edges.

  7. Step 7

Take the two remaining open ends and fold and seal those together.

  8. Step 8

Place the foil-wrapped salmon on a baking sheet and place the sheet in the preheated oven.

  9. Step 9

Bake for 10 to 15 minutes.
