How to Make a Penguin Skittles Game
Skittles can be thought of as nine pin bowling. The rules are similar except the ball thrown has to bounce once. You can make a penguin skittles game if you have a set of nine glass or plastic tapered bottles, such as the contoured Coca-Cola plastic and glass bottles, some paint and a ball. The size of the bottles is not as important as the fact that they are all the same size. Skittles pins vary depending upon the variation of the game you are playing. Things You'll Need
- 9 matching plastic bottles with lids (such as Coca-Cola 20 oz. bottles)
- Sand (or raw rice) to fill all of the bottles with one half inch of sand in the bottom
- Small tennis ball
- Black poster or tempra paint
- White poster or tempra paint
- Paint brush
- Yellow poster paint

Remove the labels from the bottles.

Fill the bottom one half inch of each of the bottles with sand. You can use rice if you do not have sand.

Screw the caps onto the bottles.

Dip the paint brush into the white paint and color an upside down U shape from the bottom of the bottle until about 2/3 of the way to the top. The width of the U will be about 1/2 of the side of the bottle you want to be the front. This upside down U shape is the white chest of the penguin. Let the white paint dry on all of the bottles before continuing.

Paint the rest of the bottle with the black paint. Let the black paint completely dry.

Paint two circles in white next to each other near the top of the bottle. These will be the eyes of the penguin.

Paint a yellow beak below the eyes on the penguin.
