Instructions

    • 1

Outline a hole near the bottom of the jar. Position the hole on the flat side of the glass, rather than the bottom curve.

    • 2

Turn on the sink for a low-pressure flow. Place the glass under the water where you plan on cutting the hole.

    • 3

Drill slowly in the center of the marked circle. Make sure the water continuously flows over the glass as you drill. When the bit breaks through, stop and replace the drill bit with a larger bit.

    • 4

Slowly drill the hole with the larger bit until it cuts through the glass. Stop and replace the bit with an even larger bit. Continue this process until the marked circle is completely cut out.

Tips & Warnings

  • Paint a jar black, cut random holes in it and add a light source so the light comes through the holes.

  • Drill slowly or the glass will break. Use caution when handling glass and power tools.
