How to Remove the Trojan Horse Downloader Adload

A computer trojan commonly referred to as "Adload" or "the Adload Downloader" continues to be spread through a variety of means, but most commonly by being bundled with other downloaded software. Once this trojan is installed on a computer system, it will automatically authorize the download and installation of other malicious software. Because of this, Adload and all other downloader trojans are particularly dangerous, and need to be removed as soon as possible. Fortunately, Adload is easy to remove manually without the use of antivirus or anti-malware software.

Instructions

    • 1

Click the "Start" button and select the "Search" function. On the left side of the search window, select "All Files and Folders" and enter this file name: "kky32.dll." Start the search and wait for it to complete.

    • 2

In the search results, locate the one file with the full file name" kky32.dll." Right click on this file, select delete and confirm the action. If you did not locate a file named "kky32.dll" in the system search, you do not have the Adload trojan.

    • 3

Click the "Start" button again, and this time click the "Run" command. In the run window, type in "regedit" and click OK. This will open the Windows Registry Editor.

    • 4

Navigate through the folder partition on the left side of the Registry Editor until you find this file path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion.

    • 5

Look on the right side of the Registry Editor for this file: "rundll32.exe." When you find this file, right click on it, select "Delete" and confirm the action. Adload has now been removed from your computer.

Tips & Warnings

  • Running a powerful antivirus and antispyware program with an active protection mode is the best way to stop problems like this before they start. Make sure your Windows Updates are current to protect yourself from viruses that exploit old Windows vulnerabilities.

  • If you delete the wrong keys in the Registry Editor, you can cause serious harm to your system and data. Only use Windows Registry Editor when you know exactly what you're doing.
