LimeWire is a peer-to-peer file sharing site. Quite often you can find music and videos on LimeWire that you can't find elsewhere. You can download your favorite audio, video and software files with a click of your mouse. LimeWire saves your downloaded files to your computer's hard drive, and then it is up to you to get the files off your computer and onto your iPod. The process of getting your downloads from LimeWire to your iPod is simple.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • LimeWire account
  • iTunes account
  • USB cord (that came with your iPod)
  1. Step 1

Log into your LimeWire account and download a song.

  2. Step 2

Save the song file to your computer's hard drive. LimeWire will automatically create a separate folder to save your files to in your Documents folder and label it "LimeWire." You can override this and create your own folder if you like.

  3. Step 3

Open iTunes and click on the "File" button. Scroll down to "Add File to Library." This will open up the files stored on your computer.

  4. Step 4

Search for the folder that you designated your LimeWire downloads to be saved in and open it.

  5. Step 5

Click on the title of the file you want to download onto your iPod and press "Open." This will load the song, video or other type of file into your iTunes library.

  6. Step 6

Connect your iPod to your computer using your USB cord.

  7. Step 7

Sync your iPod by clicking on the "File" button and scrolling down to "Sync iPod." When your sync is complete, the new file will be downloaded to your iPod. You can find it by going to "Recently Added" on your iPod.

Tips & Warnings
  • Downloading copyrighted music is illegal and can result in fines and jail time if prosecuted. Some music on LimeWire contains corrupted files and can contain viruses that can affect your computer.
