In the 21st century, much of the mystery surrounding Swiss bank accounts has vanished as nearly anyone is now allowed to open this type of account. The mystery and elite membership may be gone, but Swiss bank accounts' strict privacy laws and renown security are still intact. You can even open a Swiss bank account online in a few simple steps.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Research Swiss bank accounts online. Two well-known Swiss banks that offer online banking include UBS and Credit Suisse.

  2. Step 2

Call the Swiss bank to begin the process of opening an online account. Some Swiss banks have locations in other countries where this initial contact can take place. A bank representative will guide you through the process. Many Swiss banks issue contract ID number passkeys along with an account number. Swiss banks will rarely use the account holder's name when referring to account information.

  3. Step 3

Ask about any fees that may be required. Inquire about any minimum deposit or balance requirements.

  4. Step 4

Make an initial deposit from an existing, verified bank account.

Tips & Warnings
  • Have an existing online bank account before beginning the application process.
  • Thousands of banks offer online accounts. Look for insured banks with an established reputation.
