Keeping a Metal Storage Building Square
-
1
Determine where your first corner will be, then lay out the base of the building. This should be a track to which the floor will attach and the wall pieces will insert. Completely assembly this bottom square and put it in place.
-
2
Choose one of the two front corners of the building and securely anchor it in place. This corner will be your starting point from which you will square the building.
-
-
3
From your starting point (corner) use your tape measure to measure the distance diagonally across the building to the far corner. Record this measurement.
-
4
From the opposite front corner measure the distance diagonally to the second rear corner. If this measurement is the same as the first, the building is square.
-
5
If the measurements are different, shift the frame slightly and remeasure both diagonal distances again. Repeat this step until the two measurements are identical. Once the measurements match you will anchor the other three corners.

Tips & Warnings
Re-check all measurements and make certain the base is level.
If any of the measurements are off, the building components will bind and not fit together properly.
