How to Find, Download and Install Yahoo! Messenger

Visit the official Yahoo! Messenger website (see link in Resources).

Click "Download Now" listed by the top left side of the page. The button is highlighted in yellow with rounded corners. It is easy to find.

Click "Download Now" again when the new page loads. Wait for the MSGR.exe file to finish downloading. Click the icon.

Click "Run" after you click the downloaded file.

Choose whether you want to make Yahoo! your homepage and if you want a Desktop icon to be created. The first install screen is pictured in Figure 1. After you make your selections, click "Next."

Accept the terms of service statement by clicking "Yes I accept the License Agreement terms and Privacy Policy above...." Then click "Next."

Allow the application to run through the set-up process. You are now ready to use Yahoo! Messenger. Simply log into your account by entering your username and password. If you do not yet have a username and password, create one by visiting the "Sign Up" link at the top right hand corner of the Yahoo! Messenger web page.
