How to Install Free Yahoo! Suite Messenger

Yahoo! Messenger is one of the world's most popular instant messaging applications and also one of the easiest to install on a Microsoft Windows-based PC. Once installed, users can enjoy the ability to connect with millions of users from around the world while also using voice calling and webcam functions. To use Yahoo! Messenger, you need to know where to download the application from and how to install it.

How to Find, Download and Install Yahoo! Messenger

1. Visit the official Yahoo! Messenger website (see link in Resources).

2. Click "Download Now" listed by the top left side of the page. The button is highlighted in yellow with rounded corners. It is easy to find.

3. Click "Download Now" again when the new page loads. Wait for the MSGR.exe file to finish downloading. Click the icon.

4. Click "Run" after you click the downloaded file.

   Choose whether you want to make Yahoo! your homepage and if you want a Desktop icon to be created. The first install screen is pictured in Figure 1. After you make your selections, click "Next."

6. Accept the terms of service statement by clicking "Yes I accept the License Agreement terms and Privacy Policy above...." Then click "Next."

7. Allow the application to run through the set-up process. You are now ready to use Yahoo! Messenger. Simply log into your account by entering your username and password. If you do not yet have a username and password, create one by visiting the "Sign Up" link at the top right hand corner of the Yahoo! Messenger web page.
