How to Fix Toolbars

"Fixing" or "customizing" software toolbars can result in a more personalized program with an interface that is just right for you. You can get access to a variety of command buttons and toolbar groups that are not listed in the default toolbar interface. Retrieve and add the command buttons that cater to your computer usage.

Instructions

    • 1

Click on the down arrow to bring up the "Toolbar Options."

    • 2

Select "Add or Remove Buttons," then choose "Standard."

    • 3

Check or uncheck the button options of your choice. If the options you want are not available, proceed to Step 4 to add another toolbar, or more command buttons to your existing toolbar.

    • 4

Follow Step 1, then select "Add or Remove Buttons." Next, choose "Customize."

    • 5

Go to the "Command" tab and select a pull-down menu category. Drag and drop any desired commands to your existing toolbar, and then click "Close" to exit.

    • 6

To add more toolbar sets with command groupings, go to the "Toolbar" tab and check the box next to view the commands that cover the toolbar you would like to add. Click "Close" to exit.

    • 7

Drag the new toolbar to the existing toolbar area then let go so that it will snap into place alongside the other toolbars.

Tips & Warnings

  • Review the toolbar and command options periodically to determine if any of these options can make your work easier. Occasionally, review your existing toolbar area for commands that you haven't used in a while. Remove them to create a clutter-free toolbar area.
