The trends you want can be yours at a price you can afford. Learn a few tricks of the trade and you'll be able to score new looks for every season. 1. Shop inexpensive trend stores, such as H&M and Forever 21. These stores cater to budget shoppers who want to wear trendy clothes.

2. Try discount stores, such as T.J.Maxx, Marshalls and Ross. These stores often purchase surplus clothes from designers and department stores at a reduced prices -- and customers enjoy inexpensive, trendy clothes.

3. Visit the outlet stores of your favorite shops. Nordstrom Rack, for instance, sells discounted clothes of the same quality found in the upscale department store. Some cities have malls filled with outlet versions of stores ranging from Polo to Guess.

4. Explore consignment shops, which buy clothes in lightly used condition from people who don't want them anymore. Unlike a thrift store, buyers at consignment shops pick and choose the clothes they want instead of accepting everything.

5. Wait for a sale, which most stores eventually offer. Have a little patience and you might be able to buy that adorable, trendy top you've had your eye on -- at a discount.
