To make a bow using tulle is simpler than you think. Theres no need to be a master bow maker or take lessons. This inexpensive and quick bow will spruce up any occasion.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1
    wire lined tulle

    wire lined tulle

Any size roll of tulle will work, however, the wider the tulle the more difficult it will be to keep the bow-like structure. Pick a size between 5-6 inches. The tulle lined with wire works better to retain the structure of the bow.

  2. Step 2

Measure and cut the pieces of tulle as follows: one 4" piece, two 6" pieces, two 8" pieces, two 9" pieces, two 10" pieces. Set aside the remaining tulle for the tails.

  3. Step 3

Fold each section of tulle in half individually and hot glue the ends together. Once each piece of tulle has been glued, take the one piece of 4" tulle and set it aside. This piece will make the center of the bow. Take the two 10" pieces and lie it flat on a surface. Glue the two ends together to form the outer most layer of your bow. Continue with the remaining matching lengths on top of each layer from longest to shortest being on top. Finish with the 4" single piece in the center.

  4. Step 4

Cut the remaining tulle on the spool into equal lengths to create the tail of your bow. You can either leave the ends as they are cut or put a "V" shaped cut to add some flair. Hot Glue the tails onto the backside of the bow.

  5. Step 5

For bows to hang onto other ribbon, simply add a hook on the backside of the bow. A plain hook can be hot glued in the backside. If using an "S" hook it can be looped through the backside of the bow and hung in your place of preference.

Tips & Warnings
  • Using Tulle with the wire will make it easier to form a larger appearing bow.
  • Using Tulle without the wire will give a free flowing appearance to your bow.
  • take care to use a surface that will not be ruined by hot glue should some get on it
