how to make a pumpkin pie using a real pumpkin instead of canned pumpkin. It doesn't take much longer and it tastes so much better.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 medium pumpkin
  • 2 pie crusts
  • evaporated milk
  • pumpkin pie spice
  • sugar
  1. Step 1

slice your pumpkin into triangular wedges. DO NOT PEEL THE PUMPKIN! Peeling an uncooked pumpkin can be quite difficult.

  2. Step 2

place pumpkin in a large pot of water and bring to a boil. Boil the pumpkin for 15 to 20 minutes or until tender.

  3. Step 3

Remove the pumpkin from the peel using a spoon or fork. This should be very easy, the pumpkin should slide right off.

  4. Step 4

place pumpkin, 6oz of evaporated milk, 2/3 of a cup of sugar and 1 to 2 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice in a bowl and mix well.

  5. Step 5

preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Poor the pumpkin mixture into your pie shell and bake at 425 for 15 minutes. Then reduce your oven temperature to 350 degrees and continue to bake for 45 minutes.
