Make a Hacky Sack
Make a Hacky Sack

This is a very easy and inexpensive way to make a hacky sack or footbag out of balloons. It can also be a good craft for children. These hacky sacks can be used for hours of fun with hardly any out of pocket expense.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Medium-sized balloons
  • 1/2 cup of rice or salt
  • A funnel
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

Choose three balloons. The first balloon used will be inside color. It will not be seen. The second balloon will be the color you will see a small circle. The third balloon will be the outside color, or the color most seen.

  2. Step 2

Blow both balloons up to stretch, and then let the air out. Cut the balloons at the neck or right where the skinny part of the balloon starts to get fat.

  3. Step 3

Use the funnel to pour 1/2 cup of rice or salt in the first balloon. If the entire 1/2 cup of filler doesn't seem to fit into the balloon, twist balloon closed and hold balloon tight. Whirl around in a circle quickly to compress the filler. You can also try to push down on the table.

  4. Step 4

Make sure there is no air left in the first balloon. Twist and hold closed.

  5. Step 5

Take the second balloon and stretch it over the first balloon in the opposite direction so that the twisted part of the first balloon is covered safely inside the second balloon.
Place the third balloon over the ball to make the hacky sack stronger. You should now have a hacky sack.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can adjust the amount of filler added to make the hacky sack more hard or squishy.
  • More balloons can be added to make the hacky sack more durable.
  • Balloons are a choking hazard to young children.
