Have Family Fun Activities in the Summer: Special Activity Ideas that cost more than a little: Part Three

These are the fun activities to do that will cost more, but are great fun for any occasion.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Coupons if possible
  • Internet
  • Get ready to have fun
  • Special Occasion
  1. Step 1

A local theme park or amusement park where the family can ride go-carts, play putt putt golf, etc. In this event, set a budget, and look for coupons. Also check on special days, get on the theme parks newsletter. You will be the first to know about special saving days. For example Incredible Pizza, has a few special days where you can eat for $5 per persona a few times a year. They had organized fun family games. My husband won in a Twist contest a $50 gift card to play. My kids won free tickets in the contest.

  2. Step 2

Another great family fun activity is going to play paintball on a paintball course. Make sure you know the ages that are required before you go. Laser tag is a great alternative option, if some of the family members are too young to play.

  3. Step 3

Go to the movies, try to go before 6pm, so you can get special pricing.

  4. Step 4

Go to a local Zoo, and ride the train if it is available. Try to find day where the sun is overcast.

  5. Step 5

Go to your nearest Aquarium--We have an Aquarium of the Americas nearby in my area. The kids will love interacting and watching the sea animals.

  6. Step 6

Go to the nearest Water Park for the Day. Check for local discounts in papers, and check-out their website, if one is available. In my area, you can bring a coke can that has a coupon on it, to get a discount on your entrance fee.

  7. Step 7

Another great place to go is a Video Game Place like Chuck-E-Cheese's, or Aladdin's castle. These are places you pay to play their video games for .25 a game, or more. Also you can join Chuck-E-Club for exclusive coupons. The coupons are usually for food, drinks, and tokens. They will also send coupons for free tokens on a child's birthday.

Tips & Warnings
  • Enjoy the fun activity. If it is a Day event, make sure you bring extra snacks for the family. You will be surprised, how hunger everyone gets.
  • Bring and Use Sunscreen if you are going to be in the sun.
  • Watch for sunstroke, make sure you drink plenty of liquids, if you are going to be out in the sun for long periods of time.
