Cats have always been cute and cuddly for as long as cat lovers can remember. We love our cats and consider them family. When a family member is sick, no one is happy! These are some things to check up on to ensure that your cat is not sick.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cat
  1. Step 1

    EYES AND NOSE
Check your cats eyes. If the are bright and alert, your cat has no eye issues. If they are crusty or unfocussed, your cat is sick and should be seen by a vet. If your cats nose has mucus, or is sneezing quite often, it might have a common feline cold.

  2. Step 2

    COAT
Your cats coat should be free of flaky skin, large patches of missing fur, fleas, ticks, greasiness, and a dull coat. Cats should have shinny fur, and it is not very serious if it has a few fleas.

  3. Step 3

    LUNGS
Feel your cats chest when it breaths in, then out. What you're looking for is: wheezing, small light breaths, deep long breaths, or cutting off in the middle of a breath. Don't be alarmed if your cat is taking small fast breaths after it has been playing or running. That is natural.
