Old jeans can be used for a variety of things ranging from purses to shorts but I like to recycle old jeans to make easy gardening aprons that require no sewing . These aprons can be made for adults and children. This will be a great activity to share with children . You can talk about gardening as you make this craft together and make it a really neat learning experience for a child. To learn how to recycle your old jeans to make a apron follow the steps below.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

First find a old pair of jeans that still fit and you dont mind cutting up .

  2. Step 2

Cut the jeans just above the crotch area making sure you keep the pockets intact. The zipper may be a bit of a challenge to cut so make sure you have strong scissors

  3. Step 3

Use fabric glue to hem the cut edges of the apron on the sides and bottom of the fabric. Note how you leave the original waist fastener on your old jeans to fasten your apron.

  4. Step 4

Embellish the apron however you would like. I used fabric flowers I had cut out from an old dress and applied them with fabric glue to embellish the front of this jean gardening apron.
