Boiled Egg

There are several ways to prepare an egg. You can fry it, poach it, scramble it, and boil it. Boiling an egg is very easy and a great way to make egg salad or deviled eggs.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Pot
  • Water
  • Egg
  • Timer
  1. Step 1

Fill a pot three fourths of the way up with water. Just use tap water. Since you are only boiling one egg a small pot will do.

  2. Step 2

Set the pot on the stove and turn the heat setting to high. You can't bring the egg to a boil if you don't do this.

  3. Step 3

Add the egg to your pot. Do this before the water gets hot.

  4. Step 4

Watch for the water to begin boiling and then set your timer for twelve minutes. If you don't have a timer than just add ten minutes to the time on your clock and you will know when to take the egg out.

  5. Step 5

After twelve minutes you can remove your egg from the pot and run it under some cold water to cool it off. Remove the shell and eat.

Tips & Warnings
  • Sprinkle a little salt on your egg for added flavor.
  • Cut the egg in half, remove the yolks, mix the yolks with some mustard and mayo and return to the middle of the egg. Top with paprika and you have yourself a deviled egg.
  • Don't under cook your egg. It doesn't taste well when one part of the egg is well done and the other part isn't.
